You ask a question, and boom an answer appears instantly. No scrolling, no links, no effort.
Tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and newer search-style platforms like Perplexity promise something even bigger: direct answers, not search results.
That sounds amazing on the surface.
But here’s the uncomfortable question we’re not asking enough:
Can we really trust what AI says?
And more importantly should we trust it blindly?

Traditional search engines show you sources.
You read, compare, and decide what to believe.
AI chatbots flip that model.
They don’t show you ten links.
They summarize everything into one confident response.
